About Me

I am a Ph.D. student in Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Palermo, Palermo, Italy. My research focuses on the design of energy-efficient and adaptive communication protocols for the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in March 2019 and my Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering in October 2022, both from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy. In 2023, I was honored with the Francesco Carassa Award, awarded during the Italian National Group on Telecommunications and Information Theory (GTTI) Annual Meeting, in recognition of the best presentation and publication. Beyond underwater acoustic communications, my work explores Multi-Armed Bandit (MAB) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithms for reliable and resource-constrained Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
